         It works by creating microinjuries in the skin, and as the skin heals it leads to  collagen production,  thereby improving scars, stretch marks and also rejuvenating skin to give you a youthful, healthy and glowing skin.

         It usually takes about an hour or so along with the preparation time.

         There is little to no downtime. Avoid exercising strenuously for 72 hours (3 days) after the procedure. Also avoid washing or putting makeup on the target area for 24 hours. Use sunscreen and avoid excessive sun exposure for a couple of weeks for maximal results.

While there is a risk of minimal side effects microneedling is safe in the hands of an experienced specialist. The following are minor risks reported:

• Mild redness /irritation after the procedure (usually subsides after a few hours of rest)
• Bumps and bruises.

 No, it is not painful, though there may be a mild discomfort during the microneedling, which is reduced by applying numbing cream.

             Results can be seen as early as a couple of days (fine line removal, even skin tone, closing of open pores) due to tissue swelling. However these are temporary and real improvement is visible after 4 weeks, due to the collagen stimulation. 

 3-6 sessions depending on the problem 

To reduce fine lines/ wrinkles etc 3 sessions are required while for  scar reduction 6 sessions are recommended, at an interval of 4-6 weeks. 

After these initial sessions of 3/6 respectively, refresher sessions once per year are recommended.
